Our return is less than four months away. Our team is almost complete and we’re working on the few details we can actually handle in advance. Its starting to feel like its really going to happen. Its been four years since Tammy and I were down there but our memories have not diminished. Will the Aguarunas receive us as wonderfully as they did the last time? Will the military be helpful again? Will the rains hold off for us again? Will our taxis break down at least three times like last time? While looking for Spanish ruins, will we finally figure out why there are so many Aguarunas transvestites?
We still have room for one more intrepid adventurer. Could that be you? Time is running short. When is the next time you’ll have a chance to re-write the history books?
Hi Guys,

We are in Lima now, putting the final touches on the gear pile!
Am just now reading the wonderful account by Leonard Clark (The Rivers Ran East). Wondering how things turned out on your plans to retrace his route. Looking at current satellite images of the area he traversed, I am stunned by the dramatic change in vegetation coverage and the incursion of ‘civilization’. I am interested to know if your trip came off as planned and if so, wondering what you experienced. Your cessation of comments on this page suggest that you ran into a long-term snag…but, I hope not.
Thanks for reaching out Jean. It is amazing how the land area has changed isn’t it? We are planning another trip back in the next couple of years, so stay tuned!
